How to use

Lightfern works straight out the box, directly in your email client. Sign up and install the extension to get started.

Ultracomplete

Whenever you’re drafting or replying to an email, Lightfern will suggest text as you’re typing.

  • Press Tab to accept Ultracomplete suggestions.
  • Press to accept a single word.

Inline Composer

You can use Inline Composer to get feedback on your current draft, summarize emails, or ask questions. It sees what you see, so there’s no need to paste any emails or drafts into the chat window.

Press Ctrl L to open and dismiss the Inline Composer.

Where can I use Lightfern?

Lightfern works in Gmail, Outlook for Web, and Superhuman for Web. Add as many inboxes as you want - Lightfern’s context sensitivity allows it to differentiate and meet your needs, no matter where you are.

To add connections and check your connected accounts, simply follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Lightfern loop in your extension toolbar and then ‘Settings’ in the popup. This will open the extension management page.
  2. Under ‘Connected apps’, log in via Google or Microsoft to add your account.
  3. Open your inbox. Lightfern will be there, working alongside you.

How does Lightfern keep me safe?

Lightfern is built with security at its centre.

That means zero data retention by default. Any data we receive from your emails is to ensure you enjoy the highest quality suggestions. Learn more here.

Is Lightfern free?

Lightfern is currently free to use. You’ll be notified well in advance of any changes to this.

Why isn't Lightfern working?

Make sure that you’ve signed in and granted all permissions to Lightfern. If it’s still not working, close the window or refresh the tab.
